Summer Fashion Update

Hope this banner is alright...it's one I've had for awhile, but never used :) Now onto the article...

Summer is here! And so are some new trends on both stardoll and in the real world. At a first glance, they seem fresh and full of spunk…but at a second glance, many of these new statements are coming back around, this not being their first time in the spotlight.

For example, the favorite and versatile aviator sunglasses. They’ve got that hard and tough edge when paired with leather and fingerless gloves. Yet when paired with beachy waves and a floral sundress, you’ve got an oceanside chick look going. They’re a timeless favorite, reaching back to the 1960’s rock and roll era with Elvis.

Gladiator sandals made their debut with the roman civilization around 150 BC. Since then, fashion has undergone quite a few changes. Now they’re not your only option of footwear, but a definite must in your wardrobe. So grab your gladiators and hit the fashion arena!

Now it’s time to go over a few trends that are completely new: shutter shades and peep toe boots. Sutter shades were first introduced by Kayne West, and American singer. They’re funky and fresh, coming in a variety of bright colors. I see them as being more of a prop accessory than a functional accessory…looking cute on top your head rather than over your eyes. I personally don’t care for them, somehow I want UV ray protection instead of a headache…but if you like them, then go for it!

As for peep toe boots, they’re a mix of new and old. Peep toes are classic, but open heels are a new addition. The Halston peep toe boots are gorgeous, but you can also find them for a reasonable price at Topshop or on stardoll in the last LE collection and in the most recent beach themed releases, but sadly only if you’re a superstar. :(

Don’t be afraid to mix and match these statements on both your medoll and yourself. Just be confident in yourself, and you can rock any look. So until then…keep it fashionable and chick!

P.S.: I originally wrote this article for a club that I belong to on stardoll, called Magazine674, which also has a blog to post the members' articles, which you can check out here if you'd like.
and to Lyndsie: I hope it's alright that I gave the link to the blog...it's not intentional advertising for another blog or anything like that!
