Become An Author Articles!

Here are the articles from the become an author contest! We have 3 wonderful girls that participated in it. I had originally thought that I would choose 2 authors, but since there are 3 I am just going to take them all!!! But they will be on a trial period for 1 month. At the end of the month if I think you are not doing a good enough job you will be fired!

Also please keep in mind when you read the articles that some of the "news" may be a little old, as these were written a while ago. Please comment and tell us what you think! -Lyndise

It seems as if there will be more coming out soon. It costs $250, but I think it's worth it (I have it). It's only for previous LE buyers. I really wonder if the other ones will be better, or worse than this. I really like the colors. I also think that the glitter is a nice touch. If I were you, I would buy it. Something like this will be even rarer than normal LE since it's only for previous buyers. If you buy this, then you could possibly get a LOT of money.

Okay, I was just reading some broadcasts, when I clicked on one amazing girl's suite. She caught my attention first because her broadcast wasn't about sales, clubs, etc. It was basically telling people that if they needed help, she could help. When I clicked on her suite and saw her, I was amazed even more. This is what I saw:A dress entirely made out of bows and a Christmas decoration. I really love what she did with the necklace. She got one of those Astronomical Sign Necklaces, and put a small bow over it.This kind of girl is the future of Stardoll! She is better than any self-centered "elite" that just hides behind a screen all day! This one girl has made my expectations for the talent on Stardoll so much higher than they used to be.

#1) Inspiration de Fashion
Fashion. fashion. FaShIoN. We all know it. Some of us live by its rules, while others live to break its rules. It matters immensely to us stardoll users. But what does this overused word mean to you?

To one person, it could be black and white, frozen in time, like a photograph from the 1920’s. Sophisticated, shades of black, white, and gray. The next person sees nothing but a neon rainbow, framed in sunlight and peace signs of the 1960’s. Bright hues, sweet expressions, bold cuts. And the next? They see a post-war celebration, red lipstick, soft shades, proportions and cinched waists of the 1940’s.

For everyone of us, the word “fashion” means something different.

Yet no matter how differently we see it, we’re all inspired by something or other. Inspired by nature. Inspired by a celebrity, a decade, a piece of artwork.

Katy Perry, bright colors, vintage. Rihanna, tough style, daring. Paris Hilton, posh, designer. Each of those well known figures can be described by their “sense of style”. It defines them, it changes, it gives some of us inspiration.

Others look beyond works of humans, to the great outdoors, and see soft shades of greens and browns. Loose fitting clothing and flowing cotton fabrics. All synced to nature.

Some of us look back. To the wardrobe of the past. Shoulder pads, pumps, clunky jewelry, pencil skirts, bell bottoms. They all belong to their own decade. But that doesn’t mean we have to leave them there on their own! We pull pieces of them to the present, to create a look of today.

Whatever your inspiration. Whatever your style. Let it shine through. Feel free to take one look and reverse it to make it your own. Take a chance and define “fashion” for yourself.

#2)Getting Fit for Fashion
The average girl takes a big hit to her self esteem every time she sees an ad in a magazine or a fashion show full of picture perfect models. We’re reminded of how much we’re missing, of what’s between us and being “perfect”. We let our shortcomings define us, rather than remembering our strong points.

I have nothing personal against models. I’m sure most of them are great people inside, just like most of the rest of us. And I know they’ve worked hard to get where they are. They don’t just wake up on the runway. They have to work (in italics) to get there. Agents and talent don’t just appear out of thin air.

And neither does their appearance. They diet, work out, and go to the extreme to maintain their image.

When we look into the mirror, we often tend to rip at our esteem by discrediting our bodies. We wish we were thinner here, curvier there, not so pale, a little tanner…on and on and on.Then comes the choices. We can point out all of our flaws, and drown in self misery, or get out there and do something about it.We can put more time into our appearance. Showering, manicuring, conditioning, shaving, exfoliating, waxing, painting, trimming…whatever it is, it all takes time. We often end up putting a lot of money and emphasis into those beauty products, trying to boost our image from the outside in, acting as if they are the only method to better ourselves. But what do we do for our body from the inside out?

Staying in shape doesn’t require a large amount of money. It takes a good pair of shoes and workout clothes. Working out takes time. And most of us struggle to squeeze it into our already busy lives.

We can see the physical benefits…people who regularly work out appear fit, strong, and healthy. But do we realize the emotional benefits as well? When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which make you feel good. So it’s like a self esteem builder. Every time you workout, you get stronger, healthier, and feel better about yourself.

So by working on your body from the inside out, your muscles strengthen, and you become a stronger version of “you”.

Rather than stressing about what your body isn’t, take the initiative to do the best with what you’ve been given. Don’t look in the mirror and agonize over what you don’t like. Beauty shines from the inside out, so if you truly love yourself for who you are, others will too. Get out there and keep yourself healthy…from the inside out!

#3) So You Wanna Be…A Star Designer!
So you’ve decided you want to make your mark on stardoll. You have a few choices. You can be everyone’s amazing friend, have a popular club, own an amazing blog, have a fabulously decorated suite, or become a designer (hint, you have to be a superstar to sell your creations).

Now that you’re a superstar and want to design stuff to sell, where do you start? If I personally were choosing this route (I’m not, my parents won’t let me spend money on pixels :( ), I would start by visiting some already well established designers and getting some ideas from them.

For example, MissPaprika, thatgirlsophy, and Melody1970 are well known for their amazingly well done designs. Once you’ve seen the work of the best, you need to decide what you want to be known for making. Twilight apparel? Hello Kitty? Jonas Brothers? Those are already made by numerous designers. You have to come up with something unique and creative, that other stardoll members share as a common interest.

But if you’re still stuck on where to start, you can pay a visit to Sayha84. What makes her unique is that she has started an actual school for newcomers to star design to learn some of her tricks. If you follow the steps (as seen on her presentation), you’ll be accepted and be on your way.

And if you decide to stick it out on your own…then you go girl! (Sorry guys, stardoll is a girl’s world for the most part.) Keep working on your designs, and try to come up with a theme or mark that identifies them as being “yours”.

Keep practicing, and be sensible when you’re selling them. Most members won’t want to pay more than 3-5 more stardollars than what it cost you when you designed it.

Best of luck!

#1) Pink hbs jacket

Today the hbs pink jacket came out. It’s not as expensive as other hbs. It’s out for $8. It’s quite nice as a jacket but I have seen people use it as a skirt and I think it looks really good J … It is being sold in pretty in pink which is where I thought it would be sold. I don’t know why but the jacket reminds me of ballerinas!!! :P It can be worn as an everyday thing or it can be formal.

This is the address for a poll that was done in another club.

http://hotbuysbazaar.blogspot.com/2009/06/who-wore-topshop-cropped-jacket-best_12.html

The poll was to see who wore the jacket best!! :D It might give you an idea to see how to wear it.

#2) Vivienne Tam
I can’t believe Vivienne Tam’s collection isn’t out yet!!! It has been ages since the last collection went out of the store. I wasn’t originally a fan of Vivienne Tam’s collection but my sister got me loving it when it was 50% off. I have seen spoiler and picture of Vivienne Tams actual runway show but I can’t wait to see what stardoll brings!! The pictures make it look absolutely amazing. :P I was hoping that you might still be able to buy the old collection is you searched for it but sadly you cant L Stardoll should hurry up and bring the new collection out… There my thoughts.

#3)The new ocean theme
I think this new theme is the best yet. It gives more than all the other themes gave. Normally you only get the themed clothes and furniture items, but with the ocean theme you can have water in your suite!!! If you want the water in your suite you go onto the start page click on the broadcast thing when it says something about Haikus and the sound of water and it will bring you to a page about haikus. You have to write a haiku but you can just use the one that’s there and change your name. :P Then go to your suite and there will be water in one of your rooms J The only thing I don’t like about the new theme is that they brought out a whole load of items that have been in the shop before. I find this really annoying!!

I really like dancekicksbutt's articles! They're thoughtful, interesting, comprehensive and not concentrated only on Stardoll.
Good language and grammar, good expressions. From the three girls,I think she has the best skills for being an author.
From the other two girls, you're not bad, just try something different and more original to write about.
